I’ve heard different companies. Surely there is a lot of money to be made if you hit the right one. Companies already in trial have seen huge stock rise recently.

This 100%. They have a very progressive woman founder/CEO who has the deepest voice you've ever heard. She's surrounded herself in iron bars - you can't go wrong with this one.

I don’t think anyone will find a vaccine.

Kinda feel the same, however, if the messenger rna approach works it will be a total game changer on many, many levels. That being said I’m not optimistic about it.

Even if someone finds a vaccine there is going to be a ton of political/public pressure to sell it at or very near cost. I don’t think it’s going to be a huge profit making blockbuster that some think it will be. It definitely should be in my opinion, but it likely won’t be unless they find a way to get profits from all the corporations/small businesses that will benefit financially from a vaccine. Sort of a vaccine tax to help benefit the public for all the money that businesses have been receiving.

If a vaccine ever happens and all that pay are individuals the public greater good/correctness crowd will not allow the company to profit from this without a serious hit to PR.

Moderna (MRNA), but it's had a big run. (F/D - I sold at $54 after >250% gain)

Moderna was basically first to trials (though a nonspecific, old-platform British HCoV vaccine underwent preliminary human trials last fall, it still only beat MRNA to Phase I by a week or two). Provided MRNA's Phase I closes without surprise, I'd expect a rapid jump thru Phase II and into Phase III trials in July. Its novel mRNA platform gives Moderna the fastest track to vaccine deployment IMO.

Moderna jumped to ~$90ps on initial Phase I news. Currently settled back to 69. So it may yet have decent room to rip.

IMO, the best play in the arena though appears to be Sanofi (SNY).
Not exactly a vaccine play, though the end result is similar. It is partnered with Regeneron to manufacture an anticovid-19 monoclonal antibody blend which is set for human trial in June. The platform looks good. Regeneron's mAb model appears very promising.

Sanofi will concomitantly raise $13B for other ventures by selling part of its stake in REGN, and has good fundamentals. REGN is the other play here. But with $13B being offered up, there could be a headwind. (REGN is buying back $5B of the $13B.) REGN is already seeing IL-6 RB success (Kevzara) in cases of late-stage cytokine storm. But its CV19 mAbs could be a gamechanger.

Take it FWIW.

the boom in stock price for the vaccine winners will be short lived. That’s fine just take your profits

I think the long term winners will be AI medicine and telemedicine (LVGO, TDOC, etc)

HTBX .. watch this one closely. You can load up right now. Purely speculative but if it hits you’re gonna live like a king !

A few years ago, it was $65 a share. Now, it's <$1.00 a share. What's the deal?

Not a vaccine, but if you want to take a gamble on the FDA approving their test kit, check out DECN.

REGN may actually be worth another look. It is up about 25% since March. Compare that with MRNA, up nearly 300% in the same timeframe. REGN remained surprisingly quiet lately despite seemingly good progress.

Regeneron's product, REGN-COV2, is a therapeutic relying on the same Ab-Ag interaction which kills virus in an immunized individual. It is a combo of two human CV19 monoclonal antibodies with bivalent affinity, and should be capable of treating CV19.

It entered a large Phase 1 study (Really a Phase 1-2 hybrid) two weeks ago. If REGN-COV2 works (and my educated guess is it will), it could be ready for deployment before Labor Day.

Earlier in the year REGN was not cheap IMO. When I initially picked up MRNA, REGN fell off my watchlist.

But it does have potential to pop in the next month or two if these trials go well. I'm going to take another look at it next week. If it's still hanging near 600, I'll probably be a buyer.

Find out who is doing the rapid tests.

Buy the shite out of that. Everyone is going to board that train. I've been looking for them.

Let me know if you find it.

ABT.

ABT's test is useful, but low sensitivity is problematic.
