Transferring reward points and losing points

Can I transfer my Southwest points to my CSP? And if not, if I close my SW card will it cancel my points?

What are the terms on the cards? Are they Southwest mileage points or are they points on a Southwest branded credit card? If the points are on the Southwest Visa from Chase it could be possible.
When you log in to Ultimate Rewards there should be an option to transfer them if you can. A call to Chase can clear things up as well.

Why would you want to do this?

Agreed. If anything use the threat of cancellation as an incentive to get a retention reward from Chase.
Open trades with a history is a good thing for a credit score.

no can only go the other way CSP ->SW

i dont think you will lose points if you close the card because they still will be linked to your rapid rewards number

It's my understanding that the SW points are tied to your rapid rewards number and not to the credit card. For my SW card, all my points for the billing period get transferred to my SW rewards account. So if you canceled the card, you'd still have your rapid rewards membership. However, the reward points would expire after a certain time period if you did not accrue anymore.

Yes. They will expire in 18 months or so I believe if you have no activity in your Rapid Rewards account. You can always buy the minimum amount of points to keep the points active though.
