I would definitely be worried about that. My buddy was in negotiation to buy one of the first lots in River Club when it was in planning stages. They didnt want to sell him the lot he wanted and he went to the Sanctuary. Shortly after that the apartments started going up. I don't think this will be a short term worry but in 10 years, for sure.

STT is completely fricking its self with all the apartments and clear cut DSLD neighborhoods they are putting up. The amount of trash moving into the area is noticeably growing.

The bigger houses closer to the river in River Club are beautiful, I snuck in a few while they were being built.
The houses right where you come in that back up to the apartments...yeah, frick that. The lots are so small. Yeah, the houses seem nice with good finishes but there's absolutely no way I'd pay that price per sqft to be looking at apartments out my back window.
The needed/need to design some sort of better buffer or else I think it's really going to hurt the value of those homes.

Pat Brister could be replaced by a freaking rubber stamp. It’s embarrassing what she’s doing. The fact that she hasn’t been run out of office by a pitchfork carrying mob is a shame.
Drainage issues are going to have western st Tammany fall victim to flooding like BR did. Her entire approach to everything in the parish is frustratingly negligent.

Leave up some fricking trees at least for a buffer. The whole clear cutting thing is dumb as hell. The apts seem nice enough but like y’all mentioned, the potential to go to shite high when you don’t make it look nicer.
They should be putting up more condos and townhomes and leave the appts for New Orleans.

We bought 3.5 acres on a dead end street with no HOA, but a covenant. My requirements are, 2k sqft, raised 24", and you have to have 3 acres to build. I have 150' of blacktop, then it turns to gravel so I don't get any traffic. I am in the city limits and close to whatever I need. I would stay away from those apartments, the traffic, imagine Christmas time over that way, ugh.

Where are these apt complexes coming up?
I’m moving into Covington next month. Just curious

Pinnacle Park, by Academy and Sam's, both sides of 12. There are more off 190 up north too I hear.

Because STT is corrupt as hell, the real estate and buildings racket has made more than a few local politicians multi millionaires. Dont even get me started on the fricking land fill credits.

I was looking in both those neighborhoods as well. Happy you pointed this out as it didn't really cross my mind initially
