Retired 66 years old on SS and retirement pension. Have been getting a Cigna disability policy. Money was taken out of my paychecks for the policy, although I think the company must have paid some. Is this money from Sigma tax exempt. I check on IRS site and its kind of iffy of if its exempt. Its good to have the extra income but wondering about tax liability. Its over 50K.

Are you saying you’re getting a disability benefit? If so it’s almost certainly tax free money, the only exception to that is if you paid premium with pre-tax money then the disability benefit would be taxable.

That’s rare.

What does Southern Utah have to do with you being disabled?
