haha, I'll try to search back a bit further and add some categories.

But I'm with you, the most fascinating part of this board is the stocks and investing in general...and it's not even close.

Bought WAG yesterday, and it had a big day today. Very pleased to be able to finally get this company. I will be a long hold, as WAG has a very bright future.

"The best time to invest was yesterday; the second best is today."

I understand there might be a correction coming, but the stock wasn't too terribly far off its 52 week low, and it's $13 off it's 52WH. I'm ready to start letting that dividend machine do its thing. I'm saving up other money to invest, and will be ready with dry powder whenever the sky-is-falling-investors decide it's time to panic.

It's too bad I was poor in March 2009. FML.

Same here my friend. In 2009 I wasn't even finished with undergrad and the only thing I knew about the market was that 10,000 was a monumental number for the dow...
I'm just hoping that Ford keeps dropping when I'll be able to open a nice drip account with them in two weeks.
Best of luck with WAG

ps: anyone remember when CAT was at $111 just a few months ago? $93 today...

Anybody have any opinions on GE right now? The company is kinda stagnant right now, but is back on track with dividends. Near 52 year low. inb4 comments about "why now?" Noone knows when a bear market or correction may begin.

The reason why I haven't really considered GE is because they've been quite underwhelming since the 2001 recession, and GE isn't even close to its pre 2008 price of $41.

With that said, I don't think GE would be a BAD move. At worst I think it might help keep your portfolio steady, and the dividend is borderline great.

However, I think there are currently better bargains to be had...namely all of "Big oil." I also like Ford at $13.79

Thanks for your comment. I should have clarified I am looking for a long hold with a good dividend. I am 31 years old. GE is trucking along at 3.69% at the moment. Seems like F is a trendy pick here at Money Talk, so I'll do some due diligence with it and look it over.

....Didn't want to start a new thread for this. Does anyone own DRI (Darden Restaurants)?

They own Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse among others.

Dividend of 4.50% and a P/E of 8.7

It seems to be a buy and hold slow gainer with a 52 week fluctuation of less than $12 and a dividend of .55 per quarter.

Pulled the trigger on some T just now. Was on a conference called this morning and missed COP when it fell before $64

Waiting for it to drop below $65 to get in

I'm about to buy COP as well. Experts believe crude is going to $70. I think tomorrow COP is headed down again. Unless there is a huge drop today, I might wait until tomorrow. I would hate to get greedy and miss a fair entry point though.

I'm forced to wait until the 25th!

Who knows? It could be a good thing?

MCD looks good at 90. It's one of about 30 on my watch list.

ETA:

TTT, IF the last few weeks are an indicator, you'll get another chance on COP! "IF"

Anyone watching DOW chemical? I started a drip with them over the summer and bought one share around $53. It's all the way down to $42...looking ripe!
