Have read Dave Ramsey and took some good things from it but don't follow him strictly. I'm sure you guys have had this same post over and over but can I get a few books on beginner investing/stocks. I max my Roth and wanted to take a little "play" money into some penny stocks or something after reading a few books and researching for a few months. What y'all got for me?

not a good idea. you can find some solid companies that are less than $10 a share. I have a few in my portfolio. AXAS, JBLU, and SD are the ones I have right now.

The For Dummies books are really good

There's a bunch of them, too.

Penny stocks are like going to a roulette table and putting $1000 on 12.

I think you are missing the fact that it is "play" money because its not a huge deal if he loses it. I doubt he is looking for a solid investment.

Will check some of those out. Guess I'm not familiar with how the penny stocks work enough to have an educated conversation about it. Was looking more just for a basic book to start testing the waters a little with.
