My goodness, looks like I'm out. And I thought my 170 had enough room to let me in.

Yeah dont want to be a bag holder this high up. Insiders will be pumping and dumping this in the next few weeks. Not saying its not a good stock opening day 200 plus though

Sometimes it’s just exciting to watch.

I think Jerry Falwell, Jr. said that first.

sir, those are called "long term holders." and they're "buying more" at these "sale" prices.

Needless to say my $127 limit order did not get filled this morning. The rich get richer as they say.

Yep. But the rich won't be able to sell for a while.

At the rate it's going up, 310 might be a sale price in 10 mins

re: So any guesses on what Snowflake opens at ????
IPOs are designed to offload shares onto retail investors at inflated prices. IPOs literally create a marketing scheme to sell their shares. Banks and investment companies get to buy first before it opens in market, and they bid it up, knowing retail will buy when it opens. Banks and investment companies make their money in the first couple days as the influx of buyers is much higher than sellers based on hype. Then they double or triple their money and offload and selling pressure starts and the IPO drops below the retail opening price. Original investors pre-IPO also offload their shares after hold up and it craters even further. Occasionally it works out for retail (Beyond) but normally it doesn’t

The whole IPO process is a scheme to create a huge influx of buyers with hype at one time and push the stock price well above it’s merited price. The IPO open price to banks and investment companies is closer to the fair market value with some hype, but by the time it gets to retail it’s all hype driven and the financials don’t back it. First earnings reports really hurt these stocks bc the stock price doesn’t accurately reflect the value

Not sure how I missed this IPO. We just signed a huge contract with them. From an end user perspective, the technology is incredible.

11:31 am ET *Snowflake Shares Indicated $245

Company original valued its own shares at 75-85. Think about that. This is all driven by the IPO hype process and the investment companies driving the price up
