Mostly tongue in cheek question, but with the negative publicity of Zions shoe blowing out in front of the entire US viewing audience, how do things like this effect stocks the next day?
Is it really an opportunity to short negative publicity?

I would do the opposite. If it actually drops bc of this, buy when you think it is near bottom. Nike isn’t going anywhere. This seems similar to the whole papa j’s fiasco

Zion busted through a sneaker at the beginning of the Duke/UNC game. Nike was overpriced crap yesterday and it will be overpriced crap tomorrow.... but it will still fly off the shelves and the company will be fine.

I think it’s the opposite. If you think it will dip, you buy and wait for the bounce. See Starbucks bad pub in June/July of last year.
