Any MT'ers looking at opening up a checking account with Regions soon? Let me know and we can both get $50!

What's everyone's experience with Regions? I a relatively new customer but everything has been solid thus far. I hate that I can't mobile deposit a check without a fee but I hear that is coming soon.

The absolute worst. Ever. They lag in so many areas it's unbelievable. I closed down with them a few years ago and have Chase which is a lot better. Better rates, easy checking/savings/credit card. Chase quickpay also.

Oh, here's a free $200. Thank me later!

I also wouldn't recommend banking with Regions unless you're a student; free checking account if you're under 25. The other accounts need you to swipe a debit card at least ten times per statement or have a balance of at least $2,500 to avoid a monthly fee. Just not worth the trouble unless it's convenient and within walking distance of you. The credit cards are relatively bland and noncompetitive, too.

Had Regions for 10 years & just switched when I moved last year because they didn't have a branch with 15 miles of me.

Had absolutely no complaints with Regions.

Also, I switched to Chase & got $500 from them after 90 days for opening new checking & savings accounts.

Dayum the girls on you avi and sig are stunning!

Started with Regions when I lived in Alabama years ago and Have maintained relationship for the mortgage work the local BR agent has done. I've run 5 mortgages through them and all met or beat competition.

I've maintained parallel Chase account for several years because of their bigger reach into western states where I do substantial business and have employees. Chase has been great for business and personal. Better cutting edge products and global access works for me.

The key for me is to be able to create a relationship with a personal banker. Regions screwed that up for me so I moved most of my business sans mortgages. Chase has done a much better job of providing personal banking experience. Younger generation will not know or appreciate this concept but I love it.

They got rid of this, as another poster said. Thank god. It was only $0.50 but it was annoying that it still existed in 2017. I got Regions because it has branches everywhere I spend a significant amount of time and have had a need for cash. Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and New Orleans. I also live a block from Regions HQ. I don't have any problem with them, as all I have is checking/savings.. no mortgages or anything where I'd actually need a Regions employee.

Regions has all the problems of a big bank: branch phone numbers are unlisted, poor customer service, lack of personal relationship with "your" banker unless you have 7 figures in deposits, no waived ATM fees... with none of the benefits: shitty phone app, low mobile deposit limit, bad credit cards.

The only good thing I can say about them is that I got some great auto loans through them (2% on two used cars) and I can easily pay them from the phone app. But all that can be said for my local credit union too.

I cringe any time I have to go into regions and speak to one of those smarmy branch bankers.
