Refinancing with sites like LendingTree

Has anyone used LendingTree or a site like it with good results? If not, what methods have you used to shop around for rates?
I've talked to a few big name banks, and they're nowhere near the lowest of the low rates I've seen parading around bankrate and other websites from "no name" lenders.

im a mtg broker here in baton rouge,i deal with mulitple lenders. are you doing an fha refi or conventional refinance. whats your rate and how many years left do you have. as long as you have a middle credit score of 740 and above you'll get the lowest fannie mae rate, if not, your rate will be adjusted because of your credit score and loan to value.
hope that helps

I used Zillow when I went to refinance about 7 or 8 months ago.
Ended up using a company called New Penn Financial.
Great overall experience.

will, did you find that the too-good-to-be-true interest rates they show you on the zillow website (for your zipcode, estimated home value, credit score, etc.) were actually obtainable, or did you get a rate a little bit higher than the ones advertised?

In my situation, I was able to get the rate they advertised and I wanted.
2.875 % for 15 years.
There were no games or gimmicks.

I used zwillow also and got the lowest rate. 3.375 for 30 year and the lender credit took care of all fees The bank is bnc bank. Great experience. The best rate I could get with a local broker was 3.5 and I had to pay an origination fee.
