“The big question: Is the U.S. in a recession or about to enter one?” the investor told CNBC’s “Trading Nation ” on Wednesday. “We’re either there or within two months away from that.”
quote:
“It’s certainly possible we can rally another six or nine months because we have [President Donald] Trump [who] does not want to see the market go down in front of the election,” he added. “It is dangerous to be short right now.”

We might already be in a recession, let that sink in for a minute...

We might all be in some grand digital simulation for an alien race, let that sink in for a minute.

I have some cash that I may need short term, would it be your opinion I should go all in on the Total Stock Market index based on this new information?

What’s your definition of short term?

These guys know that a recession is a word with definite meaning and by that definition we are not currently experiencing one in the US?

David Tice is a nobody who is likely currently shorting the market.

Came here to post this as well. Would love to hear the OP’s definition of “recession” and to show how we are in one.

So we are either in one now or two months away.

“It’s certainly possible we can rally another six or nine months because we have [President Donald] Trump [who] does not want to see the market go down in front of the election,”
Or we could possibly be fine for another 9 months.
Way to cover all your options there

Federal Reserve forecast
the definition of a recession is negative GDP growth for two consecutive quarters. fed is forecasting near 2 point growth through 2021....
someone is wish-casting again.....

The markets will go down, unless they go up.

Olewarskulealum is a national treasure on this board. Keeps me entertained. He’s like PJ on the MSB.

Meh, may want to find a more accurate source for forecasts

Which companies returns over the past several quarters give any indication that we are already in recession much less one is even immediately eminent?
I’m hearing and observing that the underlying fundamental data is still solid. The rest is just noise.

What kind of pleasure do you get from attempting to predict a recession?
