Property question

Good morning, my wife and I are looking at buying a house that has a right of way easement. I guess I am just confused on how exactly these work. Evidently the builder of the house lives in the adjacent property. Should we run from this?

Just depends on what rights are granted from that easement. May just be for access to the adjoining property. Definitely worth looking into but may not be a deal breaker.

Maybe he needs your place to move heavy equipment through, maybe just to access his yard, who knows. If you get along, great, but what if you don't later?

Very try south. Also depends on how large a parcel you have. If this is a 1-2acre lot that easement will be more annoying than say if this is a 25’ wide strip at the back of 30+ acres

Depends on what rights are granted. If it's the builder, he may have just retained the easement for utility lines or something. You can always discuss with the guy what the intent of it is (if not explicit in the granting instrument) and see how comfortable you are with it. No need to run based off what you have said so far because it could be nothing. FWIW every lot in a city is going to be subject to one or more easements.
