How did you get a mortgage with no income? Did they do it based on an offer letter of employment? Or do you have a spouse with income?

Most likely physicians loan. 0 down with no PMI. They base it off letter of employment.

I did have to show proof of my future employment as well as salary amount(to determine how much they would loan me), as well as supply a shite load of other documents.

FICO® SCORE
820

As of 05/05/2014
Your FICO® Credit Score is affected by these key factors:

1. LACK OF RECENT INSTALLMENT LOAN INFORMATION:

Your report shows no open or recently reported non-mortgage installment loans. People responsibly using different types of credit are generally less risky to lenders.
2. TOO MANY ACCOUNTS WITH BALANCES:

Too many accounts with balances suggest greater risk to lenders. For credit cards you pay off every month, your credit report may still show balances, since it generally shows the total amount on your last statement.

Here is some honesty... I have no idea what my credit score is. I have not borrowed any money in 20 years. And I shall not borrow money until I am on the other side of the grass. So, why should I care what my credit score is?

Nowadays, credit score affects more than just your borrowing ability. It is also used to set your car insurance rates, used on employment applications and it is increasing encroaching on other areas. My uncle is in this situation.

Usually between 830-850. Wife's is about 100 points lower because the local hospital turned her over to collections TWICE for a bill we didn't owe. I fact they ended up having to refund us $6400 for overpayment. And now she can't get it taken off. It's bullshite what can and can't affect it and how hard it is to get things off like that once they're on there.

ETA-same shithole had a collection agency calling me 5 days after I suffered a major head injury last year. I was recovered enough to give them a barrage of 4 letter words and a letter from my lawyer for illegal collection practices. I'd been keeping a pile of shite on them from things they'd done to my pt's.

FWIW I've never sent a pt to collections or garnished wages in the 11 years I've been in practice. And I have a 97% collection rate after factoring out insurance write offs and cash discounts. Treat people well and most will reciprocate.

Thanks for the info but my car insurance rates are low compared to friends and family. And I'm never going to apply for a job. Perhaps one day I'll find out my score if I become curious. But right now I don't see the point.

Same here, I have reached the point where people come to me offering jobs I don't want. My car insurance is $450.00 a year, and savings would be insignificant.

How legit is the Discover score? I get a "FICO" score each month from Discover and another "FICO" score each month from my Barclays' Card. I haven't had a reason to apply for credit lately so I don't know if the scores the cards provide me are in any way legit, or, if they are just FAKO like the stuff you get from Credit Karma, etc.
