I'm not in o&g but have been buying energy stocks on the way down the past several years. It is good for some areas and bad for others. I drive about 10 miles per day so gasoline cost doesn't really matter to me. I realize that it raises costs of other goods that have to be transported.

O&G people don't understand or care about this. It's all about me apparently

I mean, that’s understandable. In a free market people are looking out for themselves. I’m not sure what line of work you are in but I doubt you would turn down business even if it meant other sectors may suffer.

That being said, I think the oil price is good where it is. Look how much the US production is increasing. We have reached 1970’s and 80’s peaks. Eventually the supplies will build and it will come crashing down again. It’s not sustainable, so I don’t see why people want $120 oil just so they can go through layoffs 3 years later.

True, but I'm personally more of a person, who wants things to stay stable for everyone.

I have no issue with say $50/barrel oil, and around $2.50/gallon for gas.

That should allow everyone in the industry to make bank, and still not be a detriment to working American's not in O&G.

How else would they upgrade that $90k truck they are upside down on?

I don't mind self interest; it's the myopia that I take umbrage with.
