Both oil and tourism industries (cruises, airlines, etc) have taken huge hits. Which of these are the safer investment?

Yeah you have to expect tourism to bounce back quickly. Low oil prices, low interest rates, and whatever other goodies the govt throws out there will put a lot of disposable income in people pockets. I’d expect consumer goods and tourism to have a banner back half of the year.

Tourism panic is purely driven by corona.
Oil has struggled for a while and isn’t just affected by corona.
Tourism easily if choosing one to invest in.

Sure.
Also oil isn't just suffering from corona...it was struggling well before and there was pre-corona oversupply, then corona, then Saudi price war and due to corona, less demand which increases the oversupply. There will be blood! AKA - Bankruptcies out the wazoo.
