What jobs will ai not affect? Have a feeling it will tear apart manufacturing and supply chain

Public Accounting (I've thought of this before)

You mean auditing. It will definitely impact accounting as a function.

Was at an event hosted by a team from KPMG that discussed this topic and at first was pretty surprised to see careers like law and accounting it the higher risk of AI replacement section than marketing.
Once I stopped to think about it it made more sense because AIs ability to scan massive amounts of data and apply rules and regulations would be easier to accomplish than to understand and address human motivations.

My argument for why AI will struggle to replace lawyers.

Completely agree. I don't think you would see the wholesale switch from human to AI like you would in the manufacturing industry but I definitely think it could have an impact on total industry headcount and more significantly for certain specializations.

Yeah it will hit paralegals and interns hard as AI makes research easier and more efficient.

I've had this conversation with my friend who is a pharmacist, and despite his insistence, I think they will be hit hard as AI develops.

It will struggle to replace some types of lawyers, particularly trial attorneys or those practicing criminal or family law, but we are not too far from a point where AI will be able to analyze and identify risk and exposure in a contract better than any human could.

THE FUTURE OF EMPLOYMENT: HOW SUSCEPTIBLE ARE JOBS TO COMPUTERISATION?
Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael A. Osborne
September 17, 2013

Abstract
We examine how susceptible jobs are to computerisation. To assess this, we begin by implementing a novel methodology to estimate the probability of computerisation for 702 detailed occupations, using a Gaussian process classifier. Based on these estimates, we examine expected impacts of future computerisation on US labour market outcomes, with the primary objective of analysing the number of jobs at risk and the relationship between an occupation’s probability of computerisation, wages and educational attainment. According to our estimates, about 47 percent of total US employment is at risk. We further provide evidence that wages and educational attainment exhibit a strong negative relationship with an occupation’s probability of computerisation.

ETA: Here's the paper LINK

It lists all 702 jobs from least susceptible to most susceptible.

I also suggest reading about block-chain and the "behavioral sink" (for the aftermath).

ETA: Block-chain technology coupled with artificial intelligence will eliminate many Wall Street, bank, operations, administration, accounting, and attorney jobs. There's a power consumption problem they haven't solved yet.

My thoughts are that we'll always need someone to make entertainment, cook, clean, provide shelter, and cut grass. That's not enough jobs to go around though. The behavioral sink stuff is terrifying in the context of what's next.

Management, or fields where understanding of human behavior, emotions, motivations, etc... are key to success.

I'm a petroleum engineer....in my opinion, we will get phased out by regulations and alternative energy before we have computers negotiating land leases, picking drill locations, making best-guessed decisions with limited data, and drilling on peoples' land.

Technical support. ;)

Though we will be the first ones they turn into their slaves during the robot apocalypse.

Ai can easily replace lawyers and judges. I actually think ai is a upgrade over judges and would be mor fair

I talked to a KPMG presenter about this. Law and accounting are much more art than science. While AI could replace a staff level auditor doing substantive testing of attributes, I don't see how it could replace the interpretive parts of the accounting process.

Nice troll. But I can't imagine my clients scanning their discovery into a machine that then says: Plead Guilty, and then those defendants following that advice.
