Is anyone else watching the cannabis industry closely?

I've been following this GBLX company since they won the bid for Baton Rouge production. I'm a novice seeking advise

Where are you able to invest in marijuana? I can’t seem to find any stocks on Robinhood or Vanguard. I would be interested in investing.

there are some very key catalysts coming but not just yet, with the most key being Sessions either resigning or being fired by Trump. the week that happens, expect fireworks for the sector.

As an Altria shareholder, hoping they can get into the industry within the next decade.

I still say the infrastructure is a ways off for the large-scale volume and business people are wanting to see. The future of this crop is not greenhouse/warehouse farming if it's truly going to blow up.

If legalized, the infrastructure should already be available and/or the capital from big business will roll in. No big companies are going to touch it until it’s legal so it’s no surprise that the industry isn’t at scale.

Also, have to look at this from a company perspective. Obviously you cannot come to work drunk. If MJ is legalized , you won't be able to come to work high. However, with no good test (like a breathalyzer ) all a company has to do to fire you with cause would be to piss test you, see a positive results , and claim that you were "high". There goes your job.

They can do that right now.

Once legalized, HR policies will likely follow suit.

Yeah, I follow it. It is total wild west. I think 2nd and 3rd level plays are the way to go.

Some things could be adapted/appropriated quickly such as transplanting, fertilizing, and company buying points.

Other parts will need more time/money: harvesting equipment, on-farm processing and storage, company processing plants, etc.

If it was legalized tomorrow I think farmers and companies could have enough of the details worked out to really have the industry chugging along in....2-3 years, depending on margins and capital availability.

Of course I don't think we're anywhere close to nationwide legalization, so who knows when the clock will start ticking.

Growing marijuana is distinctly different than growing other crops. Traditional farming models aren't going to work. Grow operations are quite difficult to scale.

source: grow marijuana as a hobby. It isn't that hard to grown, but it ain't growing tomatoes. So much can go wrong.

What's different about it? I'm genuinely curious.

So are vegetables, tobacco, and several other specialty crops. You'd be shocked at the scale some farmers are growing these crops on, though.

That's farming, alright.

what kind of setup are you running? a few grand and I can have you pumping out 8 plants in a closet mostly automated. will require once a day maintenance most likely though....or rather my friends could as i wouldn't do anything illegal
