Anyone have any insight into investing in this field? It's bound to only grow.

Your great grandkids will thank you *posthumously* for such foresight.

Investing in space mining is betting that either:
A. Someone is about to come up with a much, much cheaper way to mine in space.
B. Some new technology is going to create a huge market for something that we don't have much of on earth, but do have a lot of in an easily accessible region of the solar system.
Keeping in mind that the other planets are likely made of the same sorts of minerals as earth... neither of those seem even remotely likely within the next 10 years, or even a lifetime.

The technology and circumstances needed to make this worthwhile very likely won't exist for decades...if not longer.
First and foremost we need an actual space elevator or comparably easy way to escape this planet and others' gravity well. Then there's the sticky problem of actually traveling to and from the (constantly moving) mining site. It would take months/years with current tech. How are you going to feed/power/repair workers/robots?
The material being mined would have to be so ridiculously rare/valuable/needed to be worth this effort that it's hard for me to conceive anyone taking on the effort/risk.

Deep sea mining will occur first. They have a few places doing that

We will probably need to mine out the Earth first.
