I just closed on my house a year ago at 4.125 on a 30 year loan... just trying to see if it would be worth it to consider refinancing. We plan on being there for a long time.

one of the finest right here! GMFS is the largest direct lender in LA for a reason. it will be a very smooth transaction..who is your loan officer?

Not gonna lie to you. I used them in August to line up our financing & get some closing cost assistance our builder was offering. Their loan officer tried to solicit me for an outside business proposition during the process.

They did slow but ultimately successful work to get some issues with our income & my wife's previous divorce taken care of. But that stuck out to me.

The mortgage company was slow to get some of your income and previous divorce issues taken care of?

I have no idea how long those items should take. I may have an idea if I knew what the issues are. Do you know how long those issue normally take to resolve? Respectfully, if it is not your profession, you probably do not. I think it is unfair to come on here and make that statement.

I now work for a company that does not conduct business in the state of LA, so I have referred my clients to Hawkeye, as I have worked with him in the past and respect his ability and professionalism.

I cannot speak for the LO that solicited other business during the transaction, but I can suggest that had his supervisor known of it, he would have stopped that from happening.

I have friends who work for local banks who originate for GMFS and I work at a title co. who does some GMFS closing. The majority of their stuff goes to Title Plus. I've got a very good friend who is an attorney there. Never heard anything bad about GMFS or Title Plus. Anytime I've dealt with GMFS, its been done correctly and professionally. That cannot be said for some originators.

The only downside to GMFS that I know of is their origination fee, which is routinely a %. This is not uncommon, but some banks offer a flat origination fee. However, it may be well worth it for the work they do and the rates they are able to get.

No I'm not trolling at all. I had a very bad experience with them. Oh well..seems others have had much better luck. More power to them.

GFunk that sucks you had a LO solicit you like that. GMFS does a great job of trying to hire good people. the ones who dont work out dont make it long here.
