Is it really as easy as using the online form?
If I do it now, can they take it tomorrow?
LINK
Thanks

quote:
This vehicle will not be legally transferred until the new owner makes proper application for title.
Do you want to retain the title or no? Will have to get that done at DMV if you are giving that also

It's been a minute, but the last time I did this, it really wasn't hard or time consuming.
On your end, You do just put the donation notice as above.
The title can be transferred just by both of you signing the back of it with a public notary with all of the appropriate information.
Eta: in addition to the title, there's also a specific act of donation form that also needs to be notarized.
The person who you are donating it to, will then have to do all the leg work in terms of DMV, registration, insurance etc.
But I'd you're.the one doing the donating, you never have to step foot in the dmv.

you can go to a title company and they do all the paperwork. Get it registered and hand you new plates...when you walk out the door it is over and the new owner just needs to get it inspected if required...
I did the when giving a Texas car to a Louisiana resident...

“Donating” and getting paid cash on the side. Just make sure you get paid in cash.
