What are y’all’s thoughts on GAIN? It’s a high dividend player like CIM but with some pretty impressive gains in its own stock price over the past 5 years.

I thought that name sounded familiar. I put it on a watchlist back in 2016 when it was in the $8 range. Didn’t buy it, but it looked attractive as a div play then. I think that I chose ARCC instead because it was more liquid, had a higher dividend and seemed more solid on the fundamental side.
But it looks like GAIN had a good year in 2019, even with the Dec sell off.

Careful chasing gains.
Its a private equity fund not an ETF. Interesting, I'd like to learn more. Judging from their website they look to be invested in a limited number of firms which probably accounts for the upside with higher risk.
If you think christmas ornaments, colectible POP! figures, Oklahoma BBQ sauce, school supplies, bowling products, etc...are gonna hit big this looks like a great bet.

It happened after he left but I can't help but associate Gladstone with Allied Capital. To be fair the Allied Capital stocks were very good to me for years But their demise scares me.

$3 million to $20 million in EBITDA
Yee-yee, have to pass on that. What's smaller than micro cap?

Does it pay 8& Only when it is profitable?
Why did you sell?
So if I bought a single 10.00 Stock.
I would 0.80 Cents 3x a year?
2.40 off that one stock so 4 years it would pay for it self?
Is this how To understand it?
