U.S. stocks were set to open lower Wednesday morning, giving back some of Tuesday’s solid gains, after the U.S. bond market flashed a troubling signal about the U.S. economy.

quote:

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note on Wednesday broke below the 2-year rate, an odd bond market phenomenon that has been a reliable indicator for economic recessions. Bank stocks led the declines in the premarket as it gets tougher for the group to make a profit lending money in such an environment. Bank of America and Citigroup all fell more than 2% in premarket trading.

Everyone was executing their puts yesterday driving up the price. 2000 point drop today on the Dow.

I kid. I would be interested in volume. i wonder if some of those AI robot traders have some triggers.

I've never posted anything mentioning the term "corporate dividend."

I'm clearly in your head. Based on your posting history, I'm the only thing in your head.

Just wait until he starts multiple threads daily promoting Marco Rubio for President with each post containing a photo of Rubio.

He did that for over a year on the Poli Board.

Nobody takes his posts seriously over there....

Jesus Christ, dude. Lay off the doom and gloom. We all know you want a major depression so if it happens we'll all point to you and say "OleWarSkule predicted this". We'll give you the credit you so desperately want. Don't worry.

Hijacking here, but what is the deal with GS trading~10% under book value? I get financials being hit given the low interest environment, but that and Citi are eyeopeners for me.

I really don't know.

Goldman is a black hole to me.

Whenever I try to learn something about their operations I come away knowing less than when I started.

I love people who will "predict" a market downturn for months, or even years, who act like they are freaking Nostradamus when it actually does occur.

It's like predicting Drew Brees' demise. It will happen one day and everyone who's been predicting it for 5 years will start clucking.
