Why did I buy a bunch of shares of American Airlines? Whenever other airline stocks drop 0.5%, AAL will drop 2.5%. If other airline stocks go up 0.5%, AAL will drop 1.5%. Will I ever break even on this stock? If it does go up to the break even point, will I sit and watch hoping that it continues so I can make a little profit before selling or will I then watch it fall back to the current price?

Not sure when you bought, but yeah this looks rough for AAL.

Already trading at valuations well above pre-pandemic levels. The amount of debt they took on is massive. Fed rate hikes could absolutely destroy any path to profitability. Then pile on the massive increases to labor and fuel costs.

Airlines are a tough business to navigate, there is a reason all of them have been bankrupt at least once except for LUV
