From what I understand, private keys are never exposed to anyone or anything with a Nano Ledger. That is one of the benefits

I'd like to know this as well. I used to think that the currency was needed for decentralization, and I still believe it does. But what if only the blockchain technology gets adopted by private companies where the decentralization aspect is not necessary? Then what would happen to the outlook of cryptocurrency as an investment option?
