I was reading this article and was wondering how much the average person has in credit card debt, especially after the holidays? we strive to have little or no credit card debt. I can't imagine having over 15,000 on a 20% interest card.

Just think of how many people aren't getting any points on those bills

What’s the alternative? Give Johnny a bag of rocks for Christmas?

High vehicle pricing, high home pricing with lowest amount of ownership ever, CC debt rising, out of control college loans, cost of living outpacing wage growth, crazy bull market...when is it time to start shorting things?

I see plenty of girls in my "dept" that makes lower wages with babies, newish cars, new Iphones, and still eating out all the time.

I can picture credit card debt spiraling out of control.

I spent 18 months trying to build a company that helped prevent credit card debt. The amount of people naive to what they are doing/getting into is unbelievable. I was blown away by the lack of basic financial understanding each time I did consumer research.

Fortunately, many 18-35 year olds are avoiding credit all together

I know its heresy, but I'm starting to wonder if American capitalism is completely dependent on credit (and particularly irresponsible credit).

I don't think I have ever seen a time where just about every other car I see on the road is new or newer. Feels like some pigs are about to get slaughtered

Been very concerned about this. Little by little I'm diversifying into defense contractors such as Boeing, Huntington Ingalls, Sierra Nevada, L-3, etc.. and backing away from financial sector holdings.
