Company Stock trade question

I have Morgan Stanley stockplan connect and the wealth management tool through my company stock purchase plan. Right now, I only have company stocks ($7k worth) but with the wealth management tool, I can trade that company stock for anything else.
Since I want to diversify this and attempt to increase gains, I was looking into trading company stock for an ETF that I don’t have to do much with. I’m not very savvy with stocks and don’t have the time or desire to manage it daily so I suspected a decent ETF with lower risk would get me marginal gains while not having to do much.
In recent research, I found SPDR S&P 500 ETF trust (SPY) that appears to fit what I’m after. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations if this is a good course of action for a trade or if there are others like this that would suit my needs better?

S&P 500 index funds are relatively low risk and offer low fees; really just depends on your investment goals (short term/long term?)

My goals are to continue to buy stock through work and hold onto until a larger life purchase comes up. Home renovation/repair, buying car for kids, etc. So I’d say the strategy would be more long term with the occasional sale that would be a fairly large sale.
Which I think still works fine for the ETF strategy.
