But seriously, you can find a 1L curriculum from a good school and figure out which books they use. Get the older editions for $5 on textbooks.com. Then just get the outlines from outlinedepot.com and see if you can pick it up.

I am doing this now as a 1L. Take all my classes on Saturday (also have the option to go three nights during the week). It is like a second job. I work 7:00 to 3:30 M-F and study from 4-9 or 10 after that almost every night. You get in a groove and stop having a life and watching TV. Usually my breaks I play on here and some other places. The key is knowing what you are working toward and actually enjoying what you are learning. I take time off from work to visit an attorney mentor. He gets free labor and I get my feet wet.

Your biggest advantage when you are done is that you will have experience outside of practicing law.

Cool. The program I'm looking at would be 6-9pm Monday-Thursday. The full time positions while I work could be anything from 6am-4pm or 7am-5pm or even 6am-5pm. One company I talked to is going to need a contracts guy to replace their current guy when he retires in a few years. If they're willing to help pay for schooling (this is actually a possibility) and be flexible with schedule (their HR guy mentioned this as well), I could work for 4 years in project controls (estimating/scheduling) while being groomed by the contracts guy and going to school at night. Then, once I pass the bar, I'd take over for the old guy so he can retire without leaving a void in the company. The company in question is a small subsidiary of a large national industrial contractor.
