Capital One sure is quick to drop their rates. They just had their Performance Savings at 3.2/3.25% and dropped it down to 3%.

I am about to change some accounts at CO. I am assuming the account numbers change being that I have to open a new 360 account and then transfer from the old account?

Huh?? I thought the current 3% at Capital One 360 is the highest they’ve had so far? Are you thinking of another bank?

Yes, super easy with the mobile app. Can all be done in a few minutes

Get in now, these rates aren’t going to last forever

Anyone else annoyed that you have to create a new account to take advantage of the more favorable rates? That Money Market account used to be their top performer...now it's at .8% and I of course want 3%, but it seems like a silly game to have to move money between products within a bank just to get their best interest rate.

Does Amex play this game? Anyone have an Amex HYSA for a few years can speak to how they handle it?

My cap one is sitting at 3%. That $30 a month is life changing. Gotta keep some cash liquid somewhere...

Cap one did piss me off, I bought a new custom mattress to get delivered and they did the verify transaction link and I verified it and they approved it. Then they later flagged it as fraud and denied it. I called and they approved it over the phone after verifying my identity through a link. Well they denied it again and flagged it as fraud... I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THE FRAUD PEOPLE WHILE REMAKING THE ORDER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD GO THROUGH! Anyway, they made me take pictures of my ID and I could only do it through the link they sent in the app and the automated system didn't want to take it, after like 6 tries it goes through. They manually went and approved the transaction... now the mattress place doesn't want to ship because they think I am a scammer... frick me. All banks suck.

It's a six figure account, so add a zero to that monthly figure. Not life changing but not lunch money. Probably asking too much but I'd like a bit better customer service.

Different situation, but I had an issue with Capital One years ago when I was traveling. They shut my card down when I was out of the country. When I called, they told me that I needed to call them prior to my leaving the country and give them a list of every country I would be traveling to, in order. I told them if they ever blocked a transaction of mine simply because it was international, I would cancel every account with them that I have. It's been about 15 years, and they have never done it again.

Oddly enough, I've done some downright fraudulent looking shite with my Chase cards, and they have never blocked one of my transactions. But it did escalate enough once that I got a frantic phone call from a very nice lady at about 10pm one night asking me to confirm that it was, in fact, me

Have had amex hysa for years.

Whenever they update the rate, that's the rate that you start getting. You'll get a break down on the current rate of the account, what you apr for the year had been and ytd interest and last year interest.

I don't keep 6 figures in cash. I stay around $20k +/- in my checking/savings spending account. I had a bad habit of buying bikes and cars with cash when I kept more and I would lose my arse even more than inflation when I did that.

Is there something special about this bank? Looking to move money to a HY and if this one pays more, why not it, but never heard of it.

I have the Delta Amex platinum and was just planning to use Amex.

How do you guys decide who to go with?
