I’m looking at AMZN long calls soon. Will post with more explanation when I make my decision

Just put on a short weekly AMZN iron condor, insides @ 2052.5/2210.

Sort of need this one to pan out to bail me out of a short BA call spread.

Been sick for over a week, so all I had the energy to do was put on some short strangles and iron condors on AMZN, BA, SBUX and a put spread on AAPL.

Trying to unload some 63/46 short strangles on Z before the close... just outside the expected range.

Chat with Traders, ep. 100
Trader’s name is Bao... he’s a hoot (and damn successful).
You gotta hear this one, if you haven’t already.

Also, I’ve been dumping call spreads into today’s rally. The only thing holding me back are the insane bid/ask spreads. On things like BKNG and CMG, it’s impossible to put on a credit spread... well, unless you want to have a $100 spread.

He’s kind of spastic and doesn’t finish sentences. But once you get past that, it’s an interesting interview. I’d even call it inspiring.

Say, have either one of you ever considered hooking up with SMB Capital? Both of you also seem to take trading seriously - that’s the kind of traders that SMB backs. It’s a prop trading firm headquartered in NYC. I got an email yesterday from an acquaintance about them. Once I go into full retirement, I might consider something like that. I wouldn’t move to NY, but they do satellites too.

I have never really considered it. While I love trading options, I have a full time job that pays pretty well with enough flexibility to focus more on trading at certain times of the year.

I am still in the first half of my 30s so you never know. But I would like to trade from home when I get older and retire.

This market has been wild. I have done a few intraday trades lately and been able to make a little. Went long in a couple spots, but mostly going short on a few things. Like you have mentioned with vol high and premiums skyrocketing in some instances short puts have been lucrative in certain spots on higher quality names.

I also got burned on a few positions on that Monday when it all started. Luckily, and surely by not too much coincidence, it happened the Monday after Feb opex and most of my positions were closed the prior week.

Good luck to all out there. Money to be made right now.

Kemet had a long thread on here a while back. Didn’t feel like making a new one just for this news.

Yageo to acquire Kemet $KEM for $27.20 per share in cash, or $1.8B

I wonder if this deal will still get done?

Does holding positions across the weekend make you as nervous as a cat with no claws in a room full of Dobermans?

How has everyone in here been? I’ve been mostly trading SPY with a few other things mixed in. Currently on SPY 4/15 285 calls and 4/17 295 calls. Sold half my 285 today and the rest is free money.

Had puts on DIS and shoulda sold last week. Gonna expire worthless likely.

Also June puts on rcl.

Hit some aapl lottos Monday morning that paid off nice Tuesday at the open

Figured with quarantine going on most of us are locked in right now and wanted to get this thread back going

As I’ve stated many times on this board I think we retest lows at some point but who knows when that will be.

Any names that y’all are looking at?

Cash is king right now imo. Not trying to stay in trades too long at this point.

Challenging and hard to trade, my friend. This has been a good week though, net-net. But I've had to do everything directional here lately - no more neutral strangle type trades. Yeah, Vol has dropped, but there are still enough outsized crazy moves in individual equities that I don't want to take the risk of having one of the two legs blow up in my face. I'd rather just go directional (at a 10 delta or less, instead of my normal 15-20) and manage my risk day to day.

I'm sticking with bigger, more stable or "predictable" names (like that means anything these days): MSFT, AMZN, JPM, etc. I'm leaning bullish on those names for now. I just sold a covered call on NFLX and I may play it during earnings the following week.

But yeah, I'm not hanging around in trades too long either. Taking profits while they're there. I don't like holding across a long weekend, but I'm trying to get a short put spread on AMZN for next week. We'll see if it hits. Also, maybe against my better judgement, I may start playing some intraday options trading - short and long... new territory for me.

Hang in there.

I’m liquidating most of my cash positions for the weekend. It’s been a good week and seems foolish not to lock it some profits

Sold my SPY 285 today when trying to crack 280 all day. Holding the 295s as a lotto. Got them for 45 cents yesterday. Starting to think we trade in a smaller channel for a bit but who knows!

Saw some large put buys today of crappy names that have bounced hard. Maybe something to look at. Still no large call buying on solid names that would make me feel better about the near term

Y’all have a great Easter.

I've been riding Amazon calls this week. It's been unreal. When I do finally get burned, it will still be a huge gain for my portfolio overall.
