Any suggestions on the best place to obtain a boat loan?

AARP or maybe a reverse mortgage.

I kid. It depends on where you are buying the boat. Some have special financing but the best general answer is gonna be a credit union.

Lightstream. Took loan out about month ago, all online about 30 min and $ was deposited in my credit union account next day, 4.2%. They do not want title

Mind if I ask roughly the amount? >800 credit rating and did $25k for a boat and it was 7.2%. I was in the process of moving so some new things being setup which probably caused more credit inquires..I assumed that was what set it off. Wasn't too worried about it since it will be paid off within 12 months.. just wanted to get moved and settled before dipping into savings in case there were any surprises. I was expecting much less than the 7.2% though.

I've used Lightstream and it was a pretty easy process. They actually called me and had a few questions but it was a regular ol' American sounding chick with some common sense.

You can use their website and enter in a few things and it will give you a range of the rates they have available based on $ amount and credit score.
