So I've been charged a fee by Regions for transferring money from my savings account to my checking.
I did this 5 times this month even though a certain amount get accoutamatically transferred into my savings.
Is this normal? This is my first time dealing with this and kinda annoyed I had to pay for transferring money between my savings and checking account

A lot of savings accounts have a limit on the amount of transfers out of the account per month. 5 is my banks max per mo.
I believe regulation d allows only 6 transfers per mo for savings accounts

Kinda BS since it is my money, I routinely transfer between my savings and checking and this is a first. I've done more this month pulling from.saving account to pay off a couple of credit cards in anticipation for vacations

Not really BS. There is a reason different deposit accounts exist. There is good reason money markets and savings accounts are not demand deposit accounts.

Federal regulations state you can only transfer six times per month from your savings to your checking. My bank doesn't count it against the six if you make the transfer at the ATM or inside the branch.

I transfer money all the time to my daughter and never get charged a fee. Chase bank FWIW.

While BS, it is stated fairly clearly when you open your account - I just opened an account a couple years ago. You can transfer from checking to savings as much as you want but transferring from savings to checking is limited to 3 (I think).

limited to 6 per month.
if you have to or like to transfer that often, just open another checking account. Split your direct deposit each month so you still avoid checking account fees then move money as you wish.
