I'm shocked at people freaking out and bailing at a loss on friggin' penny stock. I'm in for 3,000 share and holding onto long term on the advice of AT. Even if I lose everything on this stock, it's only a couple hundred bucks and I'll walk away and never look back. But if it hits bigly.....

If you're freaking out over having a current $100 loss on this stock, perhaps investing in the market isn't right for you in the first place. Right now, I've got about $5,000 invested in various penny stocks just to see if any of them hit, but that is such a small percentage of my portfolio, I'm not worried about it. Even if they all go bust, I won't lose any sleep over it.

Looks like ZOM announced a patent today. Wonder if this was the PR AT was referring to.

Everyone has different levels of risk tolerance and amount of cash to play. You can balance that with 100 dollars in Etrade or 1 million in E trade. If you go heavy in pennies, you have to expect an extremely volatile ride.

I understand. I wasn't trying to sound like a douchebag. I'm just saying if a $100 swing in a stock is causing you heartburn (as it seems it is for some), then perhaps investing in penny stocks (which are highly volatile) isn't where that person needs to be at this point in their investment career.

It can be fristrating. The way I look at it, I bought a position based on AT's research, so if he says to hold until the next PR comes out, I'm holding. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Of course, I already booked a nice chunk of profits.

You're exactly right. I've tended to stay away from penny stocks even though my brother has made some bank off of them and has tried to convince me to jump in. I have always preferred to stick to funds and more reliable growth stocks in the past and that's where I'll probably stay for some time.

I say that but I know damn well the bug will bite me again sooner or later and I'll dabble in one or two again at some point. Probably with the same results if I know me

If you want to play pennies, put in an amount that won't give you heartburn if it goes belly up.

Back in the spring I bought a significant (for me) share of Disney stock. Vanguard didn't allow me to do partial shares so I had to do a whole number and after that purchase, I had $26 left over to play with. I saw someone here (don't remember who) recommend CPE a couple weeks earlier so I said "frick it" and put it there thinking that if it goes belly up, it's only $26. I'm glad I did and wish I had bought a lot more because now it's worth over $70. I wish I had dumped my entire savings into that stock back then
