My current shop isn't a CCH shop, but apparently most of CCH's cloud programs (CCH is a pretty big provider of accounting and tax software to CPA firms) have been down most of the last two days.

Apparently that's because malware got introduced into their cloud.

When I was last at a CCH shop, I was our firm's rep to CCH, and they were CONSTANTLY on me about moving everything to their cloud. Glad we did not.

We use CCH but all of their products are hosted on our servers, so no issues with the products.

The issues that we have had are they host our website which is down, and we have been unable to upload any returns for electronic filing. They have been aggressively pushing their online platforms, and this reason (along with increased costs) are why we have held off.

A buddy of mine in Baton Rouge has not had access to their document management system for 2 days now. What a cluster.

Looks like Client Axcess for the firm we use may be down.

They use Suralink as an engagement management and have had no issues there.

Not me, I use Lacerte locally hosted and Smartvault for cloud document storage. Losing access to either would be my worst nightmare. I would need to close my office until the service resumed. Lacerte doesn’t have a cloud platform and I was contemplating a switch. So maybe not just yet.

Dam Russians!
