Has anyone researched this one? If so, what are you thoughts? I am considering parking a big chunk of change here and seeing if it can become the Chinese version of Amazon.

So far, I do not see any glaring red flags.

OK...in the past 18 yrs the middle class population in China has skyrocketed. The middle class is growing at a staggering rate. IN 2002, it was roughly 80 mil....today....around 700 million. A decade ago only 5% were considered middle class....today it is close to half. There has been wealth created in that country and middle class consumers ( regardless of nationality) consume goods. This has part of China's growth.

So....tell me again why you do not like the profitability of this company?

Don't believe anything you're told about China or Chinese companies. There is a high likelihood that most if not all of it is fabricated. I wouldn't touch a Chinese company right now unless you were looking to invest small money for a lotto play.

After Trump gets re-elected I think he's going to bring the hammer down on China economically for this whole kung flu shite we're dealing with. If that happens you definitely don't want to own a Chinese company.

Just look at what happened last week with the Chinese version of Starbucks. IMHO, No Chinese company should be traded in the US.

The opportunity with BABA was 4-5 years ago. The growing Chinese middle class is already reflected in it's current price. I'm not sure the current risk with Chinese companies outweighs it's reward. I do believe it will continue to grow regardless, but no better than the generic index pace.

I don’t know if this is sarcastic or not, but I gambled and got in on this with a small position of 100 shares at $4.62. I figured the bottom has been reached or close to it from the fraud negativity and there could be some room for a rebound. Kept it small enough so If I’m wrong, I won’t lose any sleep over it

BABA stock is interesting.
I’ve been watching it for 3 years, it trades much like FB. It will go on nice bull runs and then just stop when the rest of the market seems to be growing. After earnings, it will shoot up then drop off a cliff. It’s just hard to catch this one at a good entry point.

Bought it at $56. Want to sell, but keep convincing myself it’s going to take off like Amazon.

It’s all a front. It’s a shell Corp.

The real company is named Aladdin and he’s a fraud propped up by a major investor
