I like it for a change. Simple yet complex enough to get playmakers in space. From various quotes, a lot of players and coaches refer to him as the smartest man in the building which is saying a lot with Aranda on staff. Not that I fully believe it, but it seems like LSU’s style of offense. Power run still a threat, but also a good mix of passes.

Would like to see some deep balls thrown this weekend and some designed swing passes out of the backfield.

Like it so far. Should have plenty of opportunities to work on the red zone stuff this weekend.

Would like to see more deep balls and better red zone plays / formations.

I believe his playmaking abilities will come as the season progresses and Burrow gets in a rhythm with the receivers. I noticed vs Miami that he had the DB beat quite often.

Looks innovative, yet simple for players to learn. Like what I'm seeing. Burrow could turn the offense into a MONSTER if he keeps developing. Ensminger said he wants to eventually give him more chances to check out/audible plays.

we have the tallest receiving corps i have ever seen here. no excuse to not use it with BACK SHOLDER THROWS after getting leverage on DB, seam routes even if covered it is a 50-50 ball go up and get it and FADES in the red zone. all these would kill DBs.

I was hoping we spread it out more, that's my only real complaint. Outside of that we were much stronger running to the left but that has more to do with our o line than the silver fox

Hard to say with the OLine looking like it was

It was a huge awesome win, and I remember Is looking a lot better

But you look at those numbers and they’re gross.

11-24 passing for 140
156 yards on 41 carries

We need to block better, we need to catch balls. Then we can just how good the offense is.

I think we didn’t see a lot of deep balls this weekend to protect the O Line and keep Joe from getting killed. Bet we see more this week.

There were bits and pieces that were good. Throwing out of heavy sets vs 1 on 1 coverage was easy money. They actually acknowledged the existence of the middle of the field in the passing game. Haven’t seen that much for 5 years. I also like the use of screens, but they need to clean up the execution.

Not to stir the natives, but same shite different year in my opinion.

We'll see, but D/ST will have to be our rock again.

Joe B will protect the ball and play smart, though. That's always a positive.

Explain please. Because your opinion is dead wrong.

300 yards of total offense, less than 150 yards passing, less than 50% completion percentage.

Some difference in package, same production.

We'll see. We played a good team, and we kicked their arse. Burrow did what he had to do. Hard to tell now, but I've used the "its the first game," "it's a cupcake," "saving the play book" excuse a lot in 10 years.

I think Ensminger is a better play caller than he is an implementer of an offense.

What I really liked was the use of the middle of the field in the passing game.

It's impossible to really know what the offense will be until Burrow starts getting a solid pocket to throw from. If that doesn't happen (at least in some games) the offense is going to sputter.

Aranda said when he grows up he wants to be just like Ensminger!

Well for starters, this thread was asking about Ensminger’s offense, not production.

Did you expect a QB who has been on the team for a month to throw for 300 yards in his first collegeiate start with a brand new offense against a pretty stout defense?

Oh, OK.

That shite was the bees knees, except for the results.

No. I had no expectations since the offense was so new. Was certainly hoping for more production.

You don't have to be upset. I have no doubt we'll improve. You're the guy asking for opinions on the offense after game 1 in which the production was average. You want me to lie?

Let me ask you, will you be pleased if we repeat that output all year?

More play action, screens, and TE involvement please.

Im not upset but your “same shite different year” statement was quite perplexing so I’m just trying to understand where you’re coming from.

If it’s from a production standpoint, then yes I agree. But with that being said, there were quite a few factors playing into the abysmal stat sheet. As long as Burrow can be a game manager like he showed us he was by making smart and efficient plays, I have no doubt in my mind that he can lead this team into a high level of production come game 3 and beyond.

I thought it was fantastic. Very diverse. Not predictable as we ran and threw out of every personnel grouping that I remember.

The quick passing game was extremely effective and something we haven't seen in a while.

As others have said, it was great to see passes to the middle of the field.

Maybe it was by design, due to Miami's speed on defense, but I don't think there was a single run that was designed to go outside the tackles. There were only a few times that the RB bounced it outside. I'm interested to see how the running game develops.

Obviously, I would have liked to see more production, but overall, I was extremely impressed and didn't think it was anything like our past offenses.

Did not like the red zone offense. Hopefully they clean it up. The slants of the line were great as was the use of combining routes to mix up he defense. If Burrow turns out to really be able to read a defense before the snap, this is where we can really do some damage, just like when Kiffin was at Bama and he would call the touchdown pass before sims would get up to the line.

Looking forward to the SELA game, I think the offense will be super vanilla, but there should be plenty of reps to work on execution.
