Finally, a reasonable expectation. Not the 2 Heisman's and the NFL Hall of Fame before he even takes a snap.

The QB competition masked how good of a QB Joe is and will become. If the line can play reasonably well, he will do well. First half against the U may be shaky. But I expect the line to figure things out and then the offense will be productive then flourish under Joe. He is the best kind of QB to have IMO. Can make some plays on his own but his primary job is to read defenses and get the ball into the hands of the playmakers. Should be a great season to be a Tiger fan.

i feel i'm slightly knocking burrow comparing him to a michigan guy....

but i project joe burrow as a much more athletic tom brady.

basically tom brady 2.0

(i say this in all seriousness)
i do not know how LSU plans to maximize burrow's stregnths and how much freedom he'll have to check plays....but i fully expect burrow to become an NFL starter once he leaves LSU.

If he is 21/11 TD to INT ratio like Flynn Tiger fans may riot

I would expect somewhere in the 30/12 ratio, leading the tigers to a 10-2 type season

Joe Montana on steroids

... figuratively. I don’t want him to get popped on a test obviously

AFter posting this and making the Breeze comparison, the one area he is not as good as Breeze at is throwing on the run. He has good mobility, but Breeze is a very good thrower on the run and I don't think Joe possesses that asset.

Not sure if this has been said but Burrow doesn't need to be the next Drew Brees for LSU to be successful. If our offense can produce at a top 40 level minimum (average) and our defense lives up to the hype there is no reason LSU can't win 10 games. Limit turnovers, sustain drives, utilize the TE's, give the defense time to recover. I don't see a reason to throw anything over 25 yards for more than 3-4 times a game. IMHO

He will be a solid QB, and with a successful season could go in the first two rounds of the draft.

Don't really have expectations because I have not seen him play, don't really know what the offense will be like and don't know how the offensive line will protect him or how good the receivers will be. In other words I am just like everyone, I have no idea--but I sure do hope he is the greatest ever. We'll see

Uh, considering that would be top 4 best seasons in LSU history, yeah, that would be okay i guess.

Since we have the best offensive coordinator in the country with a pass happy offense, I am thinking 5,500 yards and 45 TD should be realistic

LSU, even with a generally poor passing attack, always had receivers open on deep balls and we rarely had a quarterback good enough to drop them in.

LSU typically missed a few per game. Matt Flynn threw a nice deep ball which helped us win the championship.

Burrow seems to have the knack for the deep ball. With our receivers, we should be able to spread the defense vertically which opens up everything.

Flynn has came up A LOT, and for good reason bc like another frequent mention, we haven’t seen him play. I’m expecting/ hoping for better than Flynn and in the conversation for top 15 QB in the nation. Similarities to Flynn obviously, but with mobility. Better than a game manager bc of the wheels, and decision making that everyone has thus far touted.

Like Flynn (not that it matters), my gut is, the guy is gonna be good...maybe not the best QB in the nation good, but a solid step up to LSU QB play in the past. If Flynn did what he did in Cameron’s antiquated offense, surely Burrow will do as well or better in Slingers mystery offense.

All that being said, game day is close and I can’t wait...GEAUX TIGERS!
