Better than Etling, not as good as Mett.

From what is being written everywhere he won the battle based on being able to read coverages and make the BEST decision. We have not had that kind of QB since Flynn. If he can see where the open receivers are supposed to be in the coverage at the LOS, and can make the throw, plus check down or run if he misread....then we can win 10. If he is not that guy, and we know he has just decent arm strength, then we win 7 maybe 8. JMHO

Has the potential to be one of the best pure passers LSU has ever had. The dude has great field vision and very accurate.

Almost as good as Haskins.
If so, we make the playoffs

Good decisions. Well placed balls.<60% completion rate.

So you're expecting a lot of dropped balls by the receivers then?

Just lead the team, bust asses when needed, pats on the back when needed. Be smart with the football

And hit the damn receivers in stride

Same Roger. I just don't think he jumps in a sets the world on fire in the 1st game. Or the 2nd. Or 3rd. But I do expect to see a gradual progression of comfort, accuracy and leadership as the season goes on.

osu fan here and been a fan of joes since his junior year of hs. his 2 weakest assets are inexperience and arm strength. His arm strength isn't bad by any means and think he's probably in the top 25% for power 5 qb's. and, while he doesn't have much game experience, he has been going against a lot of osu's first team defense the past 3 years, so he's seen plenty of good defenses. just don't know exactly how long it may take to adjust to being under the spotlight.

he is very cerebral, makes quick and generally safe decisions. He is a very accurate passer and will throw guys open. I can't give any lsu qb comparisons as I haven't followed you guys that closely, but saw drew breeze a fair amount in college and really think he's comparable to him. I know that is a quite a lofty comparison, but he has that kind of ability. just need to see if he can do it on the big stage. really looking forward to the Miami matchup and wish you guys the best this year.

Dude has got to light it on fire. Period. This is his one and only chance to go pro.

Expecting: 55%, 240 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception.

Anything better and I'll be very optimistic. Anything worse and I'll be very concerned.

My expectation for Joe Burrow is to have a qb who can make quick decisions and get the ball out of his hands...

For so long we’ve watch QBs who can’t follow progressions and hold the ball to long; or make the accurate read but not place the ball in the right spot

For this team to be successful (10), he has to be very good...better than Etling good. More like Rohan.

My expectations for Burrow are the same for any QB that fields for the Tigers: 215 yrds, 65% Comp, 2 TDs. All we need is to average 21 pts a game on offense to become contenders. So I’m expecting Burrow to manufacture at least 14pts of that in the passing game. Couple that with a rushing game of 100 yrds and 1 TD and we can ride that to 10 wins easily with this defense. I honestly don’t think opposing teams offense will be able to average more than 20pts by year’s end.

Against Miami

18/22, 232 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

But he makes up for the INT by running one in from the 2 yard line.

Serviceable. Makes good throws and can scramble for yards when needed. Won’t be lights out but won’t cost you a game.

Good write up and thanks.

Honestly the problem is, we have NO clue what offense LSU will run this year, so it'll be hard to predict a statline.

Guess something like...

20-31 211yds 1td no ints would be sufficient

Remember we're supposed to be a 50/50 run/pass team if you believe the coaching staff, so 31 passes would be low in that regard. Bunch of short stuff to play makers in space
