This sharp little guy is excited his team (the Seahawks) traded back into the 7th round of the NFL draft to grab another player. He reacts in real time to the selection of Stephen Sullivan. And he makes an interesting remark about LSU at around the 50 second mark. (Keep in mind this is a kid who lives 2,000 miles away from LSU)

Reminds me: the first college game I ever saw was Herschel Walker as a freshman in the Sugar Bowl.

I asked my grandmother who was our team. She said LSU. I asked if we have a Herschel Walker. Been an LSU fan ever since and finally got our Walker in Fournette, even though the game has changed.

Bottom line: I thought Georgia was a dominant program when I was a kid and they have not been a champion since 1980!

Unfortunately, the comments have been turned off for that video. I would have loved to have offered that young man a chance to see football at its finest in Death Valley. He may have still remained a Seahawks fan, but he would have seen that fans of college ball in the south make NFL fans in most other places look like folks attending a HS game in Kentucky.

Gotta love the zeal of innocent kids. I remember when I used to get that excited about things.

That kid’s natural exuberance reminds me so much of a great childhood before we become all cynical about the world around us.

Is Curry just so famous that kids naturally pronounce Stephen as Steffen these days?? lol

I know that Sullivan does in fact pronounce his name differently but i got the vibe that the kid didnt really know who he was yet some how didnt call him Steven which....almost everyone would do in that situation.

By that I assume you mean teach him to sing STTDB, drink shots of Jack, throw piss balloons at opponents, jump opposing fans in the parking lots (while only having a distinctive number advantage) and cursing as much as possible in front of women and other children. Is that what you mean?

All this rarely if ever happens

And there is nothing wrong with drinking shots of jack (morally)

Reminds me of seeing who the saints picked when I was a kid. I had a buddy with one of those ginormous satellites that caught ESPN but most of us had to wait for the paper to find out. It was exciting.....now, well, we pick Jimbob Whatshisname from podunk USA to be the back up to last years first pick.

I think the “ph” throws some ppl off, versus say “Steven” but that might be it.

Phonetically, "ph" sounds like an F. As in the first word of my response.

However, everyone I know named Stephen pronounce it the same way as Steven.

They wanted Sullivan bad and made that move and traded in order to make sure they got him. Them making that trade in order to pick him says alot about just how bad they wanted him in their organization. That's awesome for him bc you know for a fact that they see something in him by doing what they had to do in order to make sure he was theirs for sure. They may not have gotten him once free agency opened up and it was his decision on where he wanted to go play based on the offers he received after the draft was over...and I'm sure he would have had alot of offers. I wish the saints would have gotten him had he become a free agent bc he would be a hell of a tight end in our offense. He's going to surprise some people in the nfl. He's going to be a weapon as a pass catching tight end and even a red zone reciever. Hell, you could even hand him the ball in an end around type of play with his speed and athleticism. He's just so versatile and can do so much with his size and athleticism. He will be a player for a while in the league and it won't surprise me at all if he ends up starting for the seahawks sometime down the road...and I'm not just saying that bc he is a home state guy from LSU. That was one of the best picks and moves in the later rounds of the draft for sure and I have a feeling that the Seahawks got an absolute steal in Sullivan where they drafted him. Awesome pick.

Yep. There's just no comparing the passion of LSU fans to the nfl fans. The nfl players have no ties to their franchises other than money most of the time and call their true home elsewhere. That's what I love about LSU compared to the saints...the players we have actually chose to come here and want to be here bc they love LSU and Louisiana. I know we have a lot of players from other states, but they also chose to come here bc they love LSU and Louisiana and rep the boot as well...but for the most part, we have home grown Louisiana guys that play for the pride of this state...you don't get that in the nfl. I believe that is the main reason why our fans are so much more passionate and bc it just means more and has a deeper meaning that means so frickin much more than simply football. It's about state pride. Geaux Fightin' Tigers baby for life.
