The Bama hype is eerily similar to Oklahoma 2003. How did that Oklahoma thing work out??

I'm sure it's 1-to-1.

Well they were beating the dog shite out of shitty teams by like 40+ points. Then got upset by Colorado and lost 2 more.
I think the point was the media was talking about how great that OU team was after a few weeks into the season.

I'm assuming you are talking about 2003 Oklahoma, who had also lost the game before we played them. But I'm still with you. Great teams have lost before and can lose again

I couldn't remember if it was '07 or '03. I'll correct the OP.

Yea they got spanked by Kansas State before the title game. So that moniker lost most of its luster before we played them.

It’s a very good comparison. The media was labeling them either the best team or best offense of all time. Then Heuple got hurt during their blowout loss to KSU in the Big 12 CG.

They lost their conference championship to Kansas State and then to us in the championship game. Up until the end of the season, they were being hyped as possibly the greatest team ever.

The QB was Jason White.

White was the OU quarterback. He had also won the Heisman that year

I was talking about the 07 team like the OP originally posted about. 4 weeks into THAT season, the media was propping that squad up to be even better than 03. Then they shite the bed and lost 3 games.

I don’t remember where 2003 OU had won 2 of the previous 3 titles, lost the 3rd on the last play (after firing their OC a week before the game) had won 5 of the previous 9 and had a coach with 6 titles. Other than that, yep very similar

The issue is Bama under cns has always had game manage ball control, make a few big plays on offense type team. This year the d isn’t as good, still solid, and the offense I’d a freak show against schit teams, but still executing very well

2007 OU was not hyped at all, USC and LSU started 1-2. The highest OU got that year was 3 no hyped the #3 team as a Goat candidate

Oklahoma 2003

Kansas State shite all over Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game. OU lost that "best ever" luster before LSU even got to them.

I was there! I remember they were beating everybody 88 to 0 that year.in their conference . Lol

Most in SEC knew that was a joke which proved to be right.

I remember when ESPN did a special on USC and compared them to every championship team in the past 30 years and USC would DOMINATE each on. Next day and average Texas team, with one special player, beat their asses. Talk is just that Talk. Bama better show up, which I think they will, but cause I am confident the Tigers are going to.
