But at some point he's got to be aggressive and take over games. Unless he's being told explicitly to only pass it and take open layups, I think he should shoulder a little of the blame for his 'under performance'. Seems like everybody else on this team chunks it up there with reckless abandon, so I don't know why he can't do the same.

This was a program-building class. Back to square one now.

For a supposed lottery pick, Simmons is bizarrely passive and indifferent on the offensive end. Just strange.

He seems to just be going through the motions.

Does he know how to play offense? Legit question.

I'm not saying this team is well coached. They aren't. But it just seems like Simmons should have more leeway to take a bunch of shots like everybody else. At some point he should start playing like a dominant star player instead of just being a really tall point guard.

It's okay to admit he's our best player, and he's sort of overrated in the same breath

Ben can't shoot past 10 feet. Not bashing him, he is a super talent. But he will be exposed if he can't pose a threat on the outside. His ability to find the open man will be compromised by the gang that can't shoot straight. Thank God for Hornsby.

Problem with Simmons is that he can't shoot. That makes him much easier to defend. He can't be aggressive and drive when the D is sagging off and 2-3 ppl are waiting for him in the lane everytime.

Combine that with the fact that we just haven't shot well from outside, it's tough sledding right now.

He sure as hell can't coach how to block out for a defensive rebound. You don't need much talent to be able to do that.
