if you think the LSU offense is going to all of a sudden get better and "open up".
You might as well do it now

I bet we at least score a touchdown

I bet we double our offensive output versus Florida. DOUBLE!! HE'S YOUNG AND IMPROVING!!

I can't imagine we'd see the same "game plan" we saw against Florida. I expect a little different approach to the Auburn game, hopefully better results.

So adjustments can't be made cocksmoke? You don't know shite. You don't know what is in store for the rest of the season.

I heard some chatter of a new wrinkle that could really open things up. Instead of:
First down: option to short side
Second down: Scott off-tackle
Third down: Play action pass
The plan is now...
First down: option to WIDE side
Second down: Scott off-tackle
Third down: Play action pass

dodd you will regret saying this when crowton busts out the real playbook

quote:sure; you could bench JJ and start Lee
So adjustments can't be made

Anybody who thinks we're going to go from 109th in the country in offense to scoring 40 points every game is retarded. On the other hand, anybody who thinks it's impossible that we improve--possibly significantly--is equally retarded. And this thread sucks, Dodd. You're better than this.

What do you have against retards?
Posted on 10/17/09 at 11:11 am to cajunfriar
I think y'all should just start punting on first down and let the d hold them within field goal range.

I don't know Carl, I just don't see it getting significantly better.
I'm leading the "Crap on Crowton" march. We're gathering at Mike's Cage on Wednesday evening and will march to Walk Ons in time for the radio show. Listen closely to the radio of for us.

I don't think "open up" is completely necessary.
What is more needed is:
1) Establish a running game. (I think Crowton was counting on this as 'home base'. When after several games it didn't mature, I think he started experimenting with other things of which some were more then JJ was ready for).
2) Let JL and Shep play a series/possession some at QB even in the heat of battle. This would benefit all the parties involved.
3) Play to JJ's comfort zone and skill set.

They could get much much better simply by playing JLee. He's much better passer and would utilize the pocket more effectively. W/ JLee at QB the Oline would all of a sudden look much better.
