Florida and Georgia both have bye weeks 10/22. They play each other 10/29, which is our bye week.

Move the Florida-Georgia game up a week (neither has a game that week) and play LSU-Florida 10/29 (our bye week).

Do you really think that no one has proposed this?

Now that sounds promising. Georgia would probably decline though.

All I've seen is the stupidity about us cancelling a home game. That and something about Vanderbilt.

If it has been proposed on here, I haven't seen it.

Should be what happens but it won't. Logical sense, no one loses anything. All games played at their scheduled fields.

Post this in tRant and you will get all kinds of excuses why we should just cancel our last home game. This is all because of LSU over there.

Greg Sankey has to put his foot down and demand that this happen. Hes supposed to lead, i see no leadership.

If they offered to play it in Athens the Dawgs would jump on it

I've seen this idea like five times at least. I even started a thread about it two days ago. It was a good idea, so of course it was anchored.

You don't just move Georgia/Florida being played in Jacksonville up a week with 2 weeks notice. Many of those fans plan that trip months in advance. How do you know the Jacksonville stadium is available that weekend? No way should Georgia and their fans be penalized for something they are not even involved with.

The game will not be played in 2016. Alleva made that clear. We have to move on. Get over it.

If you leave it to individual schools no school would agree to anything that is not absolutely to their advantage. The SEC should (and should have on Wednesday) come up and dictate it.

This is the voice of reason in this thread. I'm absolutely disgusted by how all of this played out, but UGA would laugh at us if we even proposed this.

Not if you just said screw Jacksonville for this year and let Georgia have a home game this year and U of Forfeit next year. Wasn't that long ago when they were redoing the stadium over in Jacksonville that Georgia and Florida had a home and home. Some Georgia fan on here the other day said he would love it , because there home schedule this year is not that good. Hell at this point in time, what does it hurt to ask, all they can do is say no.

LSU-Florida on 10/29

Sounds good in theory, but LSU suffers mightily from a tactical perspective.

First, it's the legendary "trap game" coming between Ole Miss and Bama. The focus and intensity favors Florida.

Second, that Ole Miss game, win or lose for the Tigers, will be an emotional and physical drain on the team. That's LSU's traditional bye week for a reason.

Third, with the Tigers playing on 10/29, Bama has a built in BYE WEEK ADVANTAGE. A huge disadvantage for the Tigers considering how critical LSU-Bama could still be at that time.

A SEC game is never a trap game. The bye week before Bama hasn't done much for LSU since 2010.

Give UGA home v. UF this year, swap that for next year, and extend their contract with Jacksonville for two years after that. LSU and UF get to play full schedules. This is the simplest solution of all. UGA sacrifices which week they get off in exchange for a home game! Sankey should mandate that this happen but it has to be announced now to allow the logistics to work out
