Dude always provided a spark, even while having to play forward undersized. I’m hoping Wilkinson turns into something like Shavon, and Wilkinson is probably immensely more talented.

Do they envision him as a 2 or 3? I know basketball has become almost positionless but still wonder where they see him fitting.

He's a great player and comes from a winning tradition. He'll find his way pretty quickly.

Assume you are asking about Wilkinson.

Last night on his coach’s show, Wade said Wilkinson is the perfect 3 for them and probably the most prototypical 3 he’s had since being here.

Based on Wade’s comments last night, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Wilkinson slide into the starting lineup in place of Hyatt for the next couple games. Depending on how he does and progresses, he may solidify himself there or hold it down till Manning or LeBlanc are able to play.

Been on the wilkinson pre-bandwagon since i saw his hs tape. Looks like he should be like a Gilbert on the football field. Super athletic and driven kid. He will be a 6th man type for this team.

I'll never forget the horseshite blocking call he got at the Kentucky game in Rupp. If the refs don't make that horrendous call, we get the W. Big fan of that guy and Carmouche.

Yep, when he was point man on the press - that press was fantastic. Loved Coleman. He was underrated for what he brought to the team back then.

Wilkinson is even more athletic though and has a bigger upside IMHO than Coleman ever had, no slight to Coleman.

You can tell Wilkinson has athleticism and is willing to play with effort. Two BIG things you can't coach. He's probably not incredibly skilled at this point (in contrast to someone like Thomas who, while not overly athletic, is highly skilled), but can definitely be an energy guy off the bench. A guy similar to Marlon Taylor where you aren't going to ever run the offense through him. But a guy who can make 2-4 plays a game that NO ONE else on the court can make simply because of his athletic ability and hustle. Sometimes that is the difference between and win and a loss. Particularly for an LSU team who constantly seems hell bent on playing tight games

For his part, Coleman was more savvy player than people gave him credit for. You have to be if you are going to hold your own against guys, 5, 6, 7 inches taller than you. You can't just outreach or out leap those guys. You get crafty to find a way to be effective around them.
