Talking about this option with a friend at lunch today. Would you prefer winning the NIT or winning the SEC Tourney and winning one game in the big dance?

I'm pretty torn on the subject, I tend to lean winning the SEC Tournament as being more important than an NIT championship, I just do not know which option would help recruiting more.

Either way, I'm anxious to see how Wade's squad finishes off the season.

I bet that's an easy answer for Wade ... SEC tourney. Not sure why fans would feel differently.

SEC Tourney 'Ship. Either one gets you a banner but SEC Tourney 'Ship gets you in the NCAA. Would be an incredible achievement this year.

You should be embarrassed for even posting this. You have let your entire family down.

Will take NCAA Tourney experience any day. Even if they make it and get bounced the first round, the guys who return next year would greatly benefit from that experience.

If winning the SEC Tourney gives us an automatic bid then that, otherwise neither are significant or worth worrying about.

Almost as embarrassing as the OP.

SEC easily. We would then have an SEC tourney title AND a shot in the big dance. This is not even a question

I'd rather see LSU lose by 20 in the NCAAT than win the meaningless NIT.

That's not to say that this team making the NIT wouldn't be an accomplishment and representative of a nice first step for the program, but one tournament means everything and the other means nothing. No matter how many games you win in the NIT, you're no step closer to the ultimate prize, the national championship. If you make the NCAAT you have a shot, however long it may be
