Would you consider this year a new era in LSU football?

The 2019 LSU offense is going to be different more wide open, as is the defense far more aggressive, so is 2019 a new era in LSU football? Watching today the 2011 offense of Miles’ versus Ga, versus Alabama, Miles relied a great deal on his defense and special teams which at times became too predictable.

LSU in 2019 is going to be able to beat SEC teams in more ways than in the past. Top Kicker, top punt returner, darkhorse Heisman quarterback, nfl type receivers, a steady trio of runningbacks who can run or catch, a fast paced and unpredictable offense, and a LSU defense thats able to play far more aggressive with a tad bit better shut down DB’s, more talented linebackers, and linemen that appear equal to some great ones in the past.

Smash mouth football and 3rd and Chaves wasn’t exciting but it won LSU many games, now this is a new era in Tiger football. Never been more excited to see an offense at LSU than this one in 2019. In fall practice Coach Stovall raved about freshmen Dalton Hilliard and Gary James, Coach Miles raved about his ground and pound philosophy, Orgeron raves about the catching abilities of his backs and receivers, and new aggressive nature of LSU’s defense. Definitely a different era at LSU.

Spread doesn’t really mean pass happy. I’m buying what O is selling but you can bet your arse LSU will still run the football.

LSU will be running out of a spread offense instead of running against 8 defenders in the box, and with the speed and elusiveness of LSU’s backs, hard not to get excited.

Les Miles ground and pound style works only if you're the most talented team in your conference and LSU was clearly not that and he refused to adapt to that reality and that's why he was let go.

Les Miles had gotten to the point where he was relying on talent to barely win games, not game plans to utilize that talent properly and win games more comfortably.

So something that never happened gets you excited? Everything is there for sure. But Ed raved about the wrs last season and couldn't get them going until the bowl game.

It's called coach speak.

“Rebirth” of LSU’s dominance in the SEC may be upon us. And I promise not to take it for granted anymore.

Actually it sounds and reads like every other offseason in recent memory. Let's see some real games and another west title and then talk about eras.

a fast paced and unpredictable offense,
I hope so, but we haven't seen it yet. After the Texas game, let's see what we have.

Well shite I guess you answered your own question. Wide open offense, more aggressive defense. I don't see how this is not the most dynamic team LSU's ever had.

yall complain because Les just barely won games because he relied on talent to win .If he would of had fan support to get over the top of bama in talent we would of had a Couple more NCs, we would won SEC last year and right now we would be talking about the Golden age of Les Miles . The negatigers destroyed this age with their nega recruiting . Right now every body is on board with LSU and our recruiting is great but the negatigers are sharpening their knnives right now to destroy what Coach O is trying to build ,there is no shame in tiger country !

It all depends on if we beat Bama or not.

When you say “most dynamic” of any LSU team ever, I actually believe it’s a possibility. LSU’s ready to shock the college football world, including some in our fan base.

Bama was definitely more talented than Clemson as a whole, but great scheme proved to prevail. A lack of creative scheme is what created the Troy debacle. Talent is important, but scheme/ coaching can be a great equalizer. Les was too stupid to understand this and it cost him an embarrassing exit. Hopefully Orgeron doesn't continue his stupidity and rely on Ensminger. If Brady is allowed to have a strong presence, then the team has a chance at success.

I think we’ll better be able to answer this question in December or January.

There seems to be a lot of momentum to the idea that the offense will at least be different in some respects. But will it be more effective? I think it pretty much has to be because of continuity. If we go out and win the West I’ll be inclined to say we’ve entered a new era.
