Would we rather play Florida or Arkansas?

Arkansas has inferior players compared to Florida, but has played much better of late, winning their last three games in a row after a six game losing stretch.

Florida on the other hand has lost three in a row, including an head scratcher vs. Georgia and a 9 point loss to Kentucky.

I hate both schools equally. Before Florida had their epic winning stretch starting in 2005, I think that Arkansas was the only other SEC school that could argue it was the second to best hoops school in the conference other than LSU so I always like beating them.

So who does the rant want on Friday? (other than Alleva getting fired)

Put Florida out of their misery; or Arky. WGAF! Beat them all.

Florida plays defense, Arkansas doesn't. Give me Arkansas.

Arkansas. I think the Razorbacks have no chance of making the NCAA tourney and won't put up quite the fight that a bubbly Florida unit who lost to LSU by 1 pt in OT just a few days ago will.

What I don't understand is how LSU is locked in to playing one of these two teams. What if one of the bottom four teams makes it to the quarterfinals? Shouldn't the #1 seed be playing the lowest seed? Instead, the 3 or 4 seed would get the benefit of playing one of the bottom 4 seeds.

this is a pretty traditional tournament format. They dont re-seed based on outcomes but if seeds hold we will be playing the lowest seed.

Ironic that both of our losses are
to the #8 and #9 seeds

This is a bracketed tournament with no re-seeding, just like the NCAA tournament. As far as I know, it has always been that way.

We are gonna have trouble with either without Wade. I would rather us get Arky.

There are no byes in the NCAA tournament. I can't think of another instance where the top seeded team doesn't play the lowest seeded team for their first game. It's not really that big of a deal because if you're the best team then it shouldn't matter. I just find it odd that they wouldn't make the bracket where the bottom 4 teams would have to go through the top 2 seeds instead of the 3 and 4 seeds. I suppose it's because it's not likely that those teams make it to the quarterfinals very often.
