When watching it didn't seem like he was having a good game, but then when he got defensive player of the week, I thought that I must not know what the hell I'm talking about. I guess maybe I'm not that dumb after all.

He had 14 tackles, but he was out of position quite often. 13 of his 14 tackles were assisted tackles, many of which were after a decent play.

He overran like 3 plays where they had big gains. Still cleaned up well.

Love Devin and not hating, but him winning that award this week makes me think much less of that award. Like they just went by tackles and reputation.

Key didn't do much and only had three tackles after looking like a monster against Bama. It wasn't White's best game, but 13 assisted tackles is still a shitload. He disrupts a lot of plays even when he overruns the ball carrier.

He missed more tackles in that game than he missed all year.

He did. SOME of it was due to trying to make up for other players blowing assignments or not executing.

For example, on the throwback pass to (?) it was Delpit's responsibility but White saw it, very late, and had turned and sprinted back to try and get to it once the QB had looked back. He missed that tackle... BUT, his missed tackle allowed Delpit to get there and make it.

If he hadn't sprinted back and gotten in the play (with a missed tackle) Arky is in a footrace to endzone and would have likely scored.

Thanks for asking. I was trying to figure that out myself. The only thing I could come up with was Paul Fricking Finebaum.
