LSU announced the hiring today of Sian (pronounced Sean) Hudson. LINK
I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about soccer or the LSU program; but as an alum, want to see all of our athletic programs be great.
However, my curiosity was piqued as I believe this is Woodward's first head coaching hire since becoming AD. So those of you who know about the sport or the program, do you have any thoughts on the hire? From reading the release, she seems to have a pretty solid resume.

All I know is the previous coach wasn’t liked by most of his players

Thanks for identifying yourself as one of the sidewalk fans.

I live in Denver and my co worker was just telling me this. Her daughter has played for her the past couple of years and raves about her.
She’s taken her team to the playoffs the last 2 years and I believe only has one regular season loss. She’s from England and has a lot of passion for the sport. Sounds like a great hire

Just did some research on her. She went 19-2 with her last team and took them to the D2 NCAA tourny

It's an LSU sports board.

I met an LSU soccer player just a couple weeks ago. That’s how I knew they had a team

Well, they did just win the SEC tournament a couple years ago and went to NCAA tournament; so it's not like they should be unknown. Not to mention they had a former goalie from a few years back that tried out for the football team as a kicker. Made a ton of news.

Yeah, I saw that. Wasn't sure on what division they were though, so thanks for that. She also brought them to their first national #1 ranking this season.
Curious how soccer is on the DII level. I know some of the smaller sports can be even bigger or better at the smaller division schools than the bigger one's because they will focus more of their resources on it since they likely don't have football or things like that.

How do people who claim to be LSU fans/alums NOT know what sports team we have at LSU?

Looked her up to see what she's been up to... married with two kids. Still looks great.

She also wrote a book. Wrecked my life.

Assuming she’s as good as advertised that’s the cost to compete with other dominant NCAA soccer programs. Woodward is clearly looking to leverage all LSU has to offer in the service of establishing overall athletic dominance. You can recruit athletes to LSU in almost any sport if they feel like they’ll be prepared for the next level in their sport while also competing for championships.
