BATON ROUGE – LSU Women’s Basketball (23-4, 11-3 SEC) was ranked No. 8 in Monday’s AP Poll, leaping into the Top-10 heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Tigers have been ranked in the AP Poll for 12 straight weeks, but this is the first time LSU has cracked the Top-10. The last time LSU was ranked inside the Top-10 this late in the season was in 2007-08 when the Tigers carried a No. 6 ranking through late February.

LSU has won six straight games and following Sunday’s win over then No. 17 Florida, LSU is in sole possession of second place in the SEC after entering the day tied in the second spot with Florida and Tennessee. The Volunteers lost to No. 1 South Carolina earlier in the day, upping the ante for Sunday’s matchup in the sold-out PMAC. LSU relied on a team effort to take the Gators down, 66-61.

Was the Florida game really a sell out? That’s a crazy accomplishment considering where they were last year

Men’s basketball can rarely even get a sell out crowd

Has any enterprising poster gif'd mulkey ripping off the glitter sparkles in protest of the BS officiating in the Georgia game?

They sold it out but the problem was that the student tickets were already counted and not many students attended
The whole upper deck for students was empty
They should have sold extras to the public knowing the students aren't gonna show up

How deep can this team really go? That’s my question. Can Kim take them all the way to the final 4 In her first year?

Amazing how much having great coaching makes a difference from one season to the next. I think this team can DEFINITELY make it to the final four and, if they end up with a good seeding, possibly make it to the elite eight.

Umm... The Elite 8 is a round before the Final 4.

If you are an Andy Griffith fan, this reminds me of "The Clubmen" when Barney trips over himself about how to score in golf:

Final four? That is doubtful IMO but they can go far. It really comes down to post season matchups. LSU could cruise to an elite 8 appearance or get knocked out early facing some big 3 point shooting team (which has been their struggle all season).

I expect them to get to a sweet 16, hopefully more but everything is gravy at this point.

I’m gonna say if they can DEFINITELY get the Final Four, then it’s IMPOSSIBLE for them not to get in the Elite Eight no matter what seed they get. That’s just my opinion though.
