I am sure it has been answered multiple times, but is he eligible right away or have to sit out a year?

Also, I wonder if we didn't have a season if anyone needing to sit out a year would then be eligible. I assume yes.

Our depth looks a hell of a lot better. Our only guy that had significant college experience at LB was Clark. The younger guys have played in spots, but this is a huge addition. Cox is a physical freak by all accounts and should be a big piece on defense.

Defense gonna be a nasty, in your face, shutdown, lockdown, 2011 style.

Opponents might punt on 3rd down.

After seeing the depth chart, Cox couldn’t have come at a better time. He will bridge the gap from last year to the next group of LB’s in Webb, Sampah, White

He’s the main reason I said a few guys will be moved around at different spots. He’s under 300lbs and he’s quick. Could see them trying him on strong side to keep him on the field. He’s been one of our best most disruptive DLineman and hasn’t been a full time starter at any point..

Hes 298 and hes "quick" for a guy who is 298. Not objectively quick

I am not saying hes bad but he has 4.5 sacks and 3.5 of them are against Southeastern, Georgia Southern and Utah State.

Hes not really a pass rushing DE. Shelvin Logan and Neil being 3/4 of the DL is just too slow.

They’ve also talked about having some sets in which they have Shelvin and Ika on the inside with more of the pure edge guys on the outside. It’ll be interesting to see how they move around all the chess pieces on the DLine. There’s quite a bit of depth there especially at DT while DE spots are more inexperienced.

Well we used to esntially play 3 DTs at a time in the old 3-4.

The problem is that our OLB tended to be very much 3-4 OLD and not guys who can all put a hand on the ground in s 4-3.

We have a lot of Minog types but not a lot of Montgomery types

Although I want to see what Cherry can do. He came as a pass rusher and then tried to bulk up to be a 3-4 DE.
